Charlotte, NC (November 20, 2017) – Compass Group USA has received a score of 90 on the 2018 HRC Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. As the survey criteria evolve year over year, the score is reflective of Compass’ continued commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture in which associates feel valued, supported and can bring their best selves to work.

2017 highlights include:
• Six Diversity & Inclusion Action Councils (DIACs) drove the 2017 D&I theme “Ignite Inclusion, create a spark” across their respective sectors, nationwide, by holding Inclusion Day, Inclusion Week and other events with the purpose of fostering a better understanding of inclusion and providing practical examples of inclusive behaviors.
• A record of over 500 submissions were received for the internal award known as the Five Jewel Award for Inclusion Excellence, which highlights diversity and inclusion best practices.
• In the 2017 annual employee engagement survey, 85% of respondents said: “My team values differences among employees such as age, race, gender, family status, veteran status, national origin, disability and sexual orientation.” And 85% of respondents believe: “As a company, we embrace diversity and inclusion.”

“Compass Group USA is deeply committed to creating a culture of inclusion for all of our associates regardless of sexual orientation. It reflects our decades-long history of embracing equality in the workplace,” states Cindy Noble, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer – EVP Human Resources, Compass Group. “We are delighted to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign for the second year in a row for our dedication to a truly diverse and inclusive environment for our workforce.”
