A. The purpose of the Compass Cares Foundation is to provide financial support to organizations that align with the Foundation’s Pillars; those Pillars include:

1. Creating inclusive job opportunities: to provide access to job opportunities for disadvantaged groups by funding effective and innovative approaches to training and career advancement in the food service & hospitality sector.
2. Empowering Local, Responsible, and Resilient Suppliers: to advance a sustainable food supply chain by investing in initiatives that support equitable market access and economic opportunity to small holder farmers and entrepreneurs.
3. Civic and Natural Disaster Response: to provide urgent support in the case of a natural disaster in the United States.
4. Fighting Food Insecurity: to fight food insecurity and aid organizations supporting civic disasters.

A. No. The Foundation only makes financial donations to approved organizations.

1. Charitable organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). Any organizations that do not qualify as exempt under Code Section 501(c)(3) are ineligible to receive grants from the Foundation.

A. The Foundation will only review applications for charitable organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) and align with the Foundation’s four Pillars.

B. The Charity will not award grants to:

• Organizations that are not qualifying public or private charities or governmental entities;
• Applicants that fail to meet eligibility requirements or fail to provide sufficient information to enable adequate assessment;
• Religious organizations for religious purposes;
• Political candidates, lobbying organizations, or organizations that are overtly political or pursue a political agenda;
• Organizations with constituencies that do not align with the Charity funding priorities;
• Organizations that intend to use the grants for sponsorships and/or advertising;
• Individuals or those seeking personal appeals;
• For-profit organizations; and
• Applicants seeking retroactive funding.

A. The Foundation is funded from donations from Compass Group USA associates, support from Compass Group USA, Inc., and other charitable organizations that intend to support the Foundation.

Applications are open now through August 15. We encourage associates to share this opportunity with eligible nonprofit organizations and invite them to apply for FY26 funding consideration before the August 15 deadline.

A. We make decisions based on the quality of proposals, partnership opportunities, social need, and funding availability. Organizations considered for funding will undergo the Foundation’s due diligence process. All grant proposals must be made in writing using a standard form that will be shared when invited to apply for a grant.

B. Proposals must explain in detail how the grant will be used and put forward a strong case for support. In particular, a proposal must:

• demonstrate how the activities funded by the grant will benefit the intended beneficiaries and advance one or more of our funding priorities.
• demonstrate clarity of purpose, grassroots engagement and empowerment of communities, tangible positive outcomes, cost-effectiveness, accountability and a sustainable approach to delivering social impact.
