Victor Vives | Growth Through Confidence and Support

June 17, 2026

For Victor Vives, HR generalist for FLIK Hospitality Group, Pride Month represents both personal growth and collective progress.

“Pride Month holds deep personal significance for me,” recalled Victor. “It was the first time I saw people who reflected my experiences –  confident, authentic and proud – and it gave me hope that I could accept myself fully.”

Representation truly matters. “Pride Month is a time to honor the challenges overcome by previous generations and to recognize the progress that has helped create a safer and more inclusive world for our community,” he added.

Victor shared that one of the most meaningful moments in his journey came when he had been invited to walk in his first Pride parade. Although he was initially uncertain, he found the courage to participate. It turned out to be one of the best decisions he ever made, an experience filled with affirmation and belonging.

“I especially remember seeing LGBTQ+ families walking together, which gave me hope that I too could build a loving family one day.”

That experience continues to shape how Victor approaches inclusion and allyship in the workplace. He believes that one of the most impactful things colleagues can do is speak up when inappropriate remarks are made about the LGBTQ+ community.

“This doesn’t mean engaging in conflict, but rather ensuring that harmful remarks don’t go unchallenged,” Victor explained. Knowing that those around us are willing to be allies helps create a safer, more respectful and inclusive environment for everyone.
