Compass Group Joins Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade Sponsors to Feed 500 Families

For a second consecutive year, Compass Group USA is partnering with the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade to contribute the accompanying side dishes for 500 Thanksgiving meals supporting local families.

Foodbuy, Compass’ procurement division, coordinated the donation of mashed potatoes, fresh rolls, baked beans, canned green beans and bagged stuffing from suppliers Basic American, Bimbo, Bush’s Brothers, Vistar and Sugar Foods, respectively. Additionally, Foodbuy rounded out the meal by personally donating Sara Lee frozen pies for each of the families. Second Harvest Food Bank of the Metrolina will deliver the meals to recipient families in plenty of time for Thanksgiving dinner.

“Our Compass in the Community program is dedicated to fighting hunger and malnutrition in the communities we serve,” says Raj Pragasam, Chief Inclusion Officer and Senior Vice President Human Resources for Compass Group. “We’re delighted to once again join our partners Novant Health and Second Harvest in celebrating Thanksgiving with our Charlotte neighbors.”

Meals were packaged at Second Harvest Food Bank and will be distributed early Thanksgiving week.

The Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place at 9:30am on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015.
