Meet Aileen: Associate Spotlight Vol. X

Aileen Schuh

Aileen is a General Manager with FLIK Hospitality Group. She started her career at Compass Group four years ago as a Conference Services Manager and was promoted to her current role in 2017. In addition to her day to day responsibilities, Aileen leads the mentor program for FLIK Conference Centers. She was recognized in 2016 and 2017 as a Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management Rising Star. Additionally, Aileen was named to the 2017 FoodService Director Magazine 30 Under 30-Something list.

Describe your proudest moment at Compass so far.
My proudest moment at Compass Group was being nominated for Project Readiness. My nomination to a leadership development course shows that senior leadership has confidence in me and supports my progress towards the next step of my career.

What is the best career advice that you have ever received?
Ask for a seat at the table rather than waiting to be invited. Be proactive and take ownership of your career.

What do you most enjoy about your job?
I really enjoy sharing different ideas with my clients to assist them in planning a successful meeting. The hospitality aspect of my role is key.

Is there anything you are really passionate about outside of work?
I love to try out new restaurants with friends. There are so many great places opening in the Dallas/Fort Worth area!

If you could have a super-power, what would it be and why?
I would like to be able to clone myself (just for work). I would be able to check-in on meetings that are taking place at the same time to ensure everything is going smoothly.
